[Some months ago appeared, under the initiative of Eric Bragg, Bruno Jacobs and Eugenio Castro the book The exteriority crisis. From the city limits and beyond. Few months later, our friend Mattias Forshage wrote a criticism to that book, as well as to some particular contributions, mostly related to the Madrid group members who participates in the book. As a consequence, those members of the Madrid group and also some friends concerned have written a response to Mattias' criticism. Both, Mattias and all of us have considered that the discussion is of the most relevance and that it has to circulate within the international surrealist community. Es sin duda innecesario y hasta petulante que en este breve mensaje de homenaje y amistad pretendamos, nosotros los surrealistas, rememorar y comentar los hechos y peripecias de una vida revolucionaria ejemplar, en la FIJL y en la CNT, en Defensa Interior y en Solidaridad Obrera, en Barcelona y en el exilio. Otros testimonios lo habrán hecho ya, con más conocimiento de causa, y hablando muchas veces desde la primera persona del que ha compartido un mismo combate contra el escándalo permanente de este mundo abyecto. Permítasenos entonces que contribuyamos con un testimonio más modesto pero afectivo, aunque quizás en el mismo podamos aportar algún matiz más que añadir al rico calidoscopio que cristaliza una vida cuando, como la de Luis Andrés Edo, es verdaderamente vivida a la altura que la misma Vida exige, y no la servidumbre ni la supervivencia.

FRANKLIN ROSEMONT

Franklin Rosemont, poeta, artista, editor, historiador y activista surrealista, ha muerto en Chicago el domingo 12 de abril, a la edad de 65 años.

Es un propósito de elemental salud histórica comenzar por exponer, aunque sea sucintamente, y refiriéndonos a dos instancias, lo que el surrealismo no es, pues de este modo se comprenderá mejor lo que el surrealismo es.
